Who is behind AFIFORUM?
AFIFORUM is a joint initiative by Cardano Development and Footlight International. The collaboration started in June 2018 and got support from leading impact investors and development banks, like FMO, Proparco, Symbiotics and Triple Jump.

Where does AFIFORUM take place and why?
The 2023 edition takes place in the JW Marriott Hotel Bangkok, located in 4 Sukhumvit Rd, Khwaeng Khlong Toei, Khet Khlong Toei, Bangkok 10110, Thailand. It offers a central location for organizations coming from all over Asia and for international investors. Furthermore it allows the AFIFORUM to be as inclusive as possible on pricing, to also allow local MFIs and NBFIs to join.
When does it take place?
The 4th edition of AFIFORUM takes place on March 8 and 9. This provides an excellent opportunity to connect with business relations to set the agenda for 2023.
Why is the event hosted?
AFIFORUM is intended to offer an annual platform for the impact investment community to meet on themes and topics that are most relevant for sustainable development in Asia. Especially for local financial institutions and private sector it offers a unique setting to interact with financiers and investors. AFIFORUM is about raising capital and placing capital for impact. The forum answers a need to convene, proven by its inaugural edition being sold out.
Who is it for?
Those with a (business) interest in sustainable development get most from this forum. Since the investor community is heavily represented and present, AFIFORUM is a perfect springboard to meet potential financiers and investors. At the core of the event lies financial inclusion, which makes it especially relevant for local financial institutions and support organizations like Microfinance Institutions (MFIs), Non-Banking Financial Institutions (NBFIs), Financial Service Providers (FSPs)and local commercial banks. Also dealmakers, service providers, development enterprises, impact SMEs and project developers can connect with most relevant investors on topics like MSME financing, energy investments, affordable housing and infrastructure.
What to expect?
AFIFORUM is the biggest impact investment gathering in Asia for financial institutions, so you can meet the most active investors and lenders in the region. AFIFORUM provides an active matchmaking platform for local MFIs, NBFIs, FSPs and banks to raise funds with these investors. AFIFORUM allows you to be in the midst of the SDG investment community.
What is the price to attend?
Delegate tickets are kept as inclusive as possible, with tickets of EUR495 (late registration). Please note that previous editions were completely sold out.
What is included in a ticket?
Delegates can take part in all sessions on March 8 and 9. It also includes lunch on both days and access to the official networking cocktail reception in the evening of March. Delegates also get access to the event application and matchmaking tool, to connect with other attendees and to schedule 1-on-1 meetings.
What if I cannot attend?
If you cannot attend we strongly urge you to send a colleague, just send us a quick email to borja@afiforum.com. We are flexible until the last day to hand your ticket to a colleague or business relation.
If you would like to cancel your ticket, we accept cancellations up to 7 days before the event. Cancellations received before 1st of March 2023, will be processed and refunded subject to a administration and handling fee of up to 7.5% (depending on banking fees). Cancellations received less than 7 days before start of AFIFORUM, so after 1st of March 2023, will not be re-funded. Of course it remains possible to hand these tickets to a business relation or colleague.
Can I sponsor or exhibit at the AFIFORUM?
The event is mostly supported and sponsored by leading investors. Sponsoring and exhibiting is also possible for private companies, be service providers or suppliers working in the financial sector or actors from the impact investment space. For those that want to tie their name and work to the event, sponsor packages start at US$2000.
